 Improve Governance

ImageLegislative, executive, and judiciary branches of a modern democratic governance system wield power and authority to implement good public policies and decisions concerning economic and social development. Even though the economic and political freedom and the rule of law are the essence of a liberal democracy, instituting sensible regulatory parameters are equally important to make the society and the marketplace become functionally operational. Thus, interactions between the formal institutions (government) and the informal sector (e.g., civil society, professionals, and citizenry) are vital in creating a feedback mechanism to improve the governance system. POA Foundation embraces this notion of good governance in a broad sense to include public accountability, market enhancing regulatory mechanism, policy deliberation, public opinion, social equality, economic and political freedom, and the rule of law.

The foundation has not taken on any major initiatives in this area at the moment. We have supported  few external projects and our chairman, Mr. Aditya Jha, is a regular speaker at various forums that  work in this area.
