Nepal News: Canadian Film Festival from January 23 PDF Print E-mail

A 3-day first ever Canadian Film Festival will be held from January 23 to 25 at Kumari Hall, with the aim of strengthening relations between Nepal and Canada and to provide opportunities for Nepali Film Entrepreneurs to partner with Toronto International Film Festival Group (TIFFG), one of the world's largest film festival companies.

Three movies, Saint Ralph, A Simple Curve and La Neuvaine will be screened at the Film Festival, jointly organised by the Canada based charity foundation, POA Educational Foundation, and the TIFFG.

A press release issued by the organizers said such an association could also help the Nepalese film industry to blunt the serious competitions coming from across the border.

?A special interaction session between the organizers, the Trade Commissioner, representatives of the film industry and the media is also planned during the film festival,? the release added.

According to organizers, the amount earned through voluntary donations at the screenings is to be donated to Pashupati Bridha Ashram.
