An honours graduate of Business Administration at Humber College of Applied Arts and Technology with over 23 years of business experience in financial services, management consulting and construction management. Janine has an extensive background in strategic and business planning, operations, people leadership, process and change management. With a background that includes project and product management Janine has strong business acumen which contributes to her overall effectiveness in her current role. During the past 10 years Janine has primarily been focused on helping companies implement large strategic changes. During this time Janine has worked with companies optimizing organization structures and improving on performance management systems to drive and reward the desired results.

Geoffrey Hoy is the Senior Vice-President and Manager of Toronto Main and Ontario Region for HSBC Bank Canada. A native Calgarian, Geoff graduated from the University of Alberta in 1973 with a BSc degree, and from the University of British Columbia in 1975 with an MBA degree. Geoff's 24 years of banking with HSBC Group started with Midland Bank Canada in Calgary, and following its amalgamation in 1986, Hongkong Bank of Canada in Toronto. After an 18-month secondment to the Corporate Finance Group at HSBC Securities, Geoff returned to the Bank to run the main branch in Toronto in September 1997. Geoff is now the senior executive overseeing six of the Bank's branches in Toronto.

Prior to entering into banking, Mr. Panday worked in public accountancy, servicing Canadian and International companies in retailing, real estate, pharmaceutical, light manufacturing and banking sectors at Price Waterhouse & Co. Mr. Panday serves as a trustee on the Board of Royal Ontario Museum, and as a governer on the Board of the Roy Thompson Hall and Massey Hall. In addition to numerous other memberships & appointments, he is the former President of the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce and former Director of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC). Mr. Panday is a graduate in Economics and Political Science and a Certified General Accountant.

Prashant is Managing Partner of ReichmannHauer Capital Partners. In his role as a principal investor, Prashant is focused on addressing all strategic, operational, and organizational aspects of investments to drive superior returns.

Before joining RHCP, Prashant was a Partner of McKinsey & Company Inc. While at McKinsey he was a leader of the North American Telecom Practice, the Financial Services Practices and also a leader of the Canadian Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice. Prior to McKinsey, Prashant held a range of management and operations roles at Halliburton and Schlumberger.

Outside of professional interests, Prashant actively contributes to several charitable institutions and causes. He is an alumnus of the core team of Vartana and a Charter Member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs).

Prashant migrated to Canada in 1998. He now lives in Toronto with his wife, Geetu, and their three children. Prashant has a MBA from INSEAD with Distinction and a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), where he was adjudged the Best All-round Graduating Student of his class.

Ryerson University is a proud partner of Project Beyshick and is committed to advancing its goal of nurturing corporate leadership and entrepreneurship among First Nations youth and their communities.

During the two-day preparatory seminar in Thunder Bay, Ryerson Business professors will teach participants how to identify new venture opportunities and write a business plan.

Next, participants will travel to Toronto for three days of job shadowing with senior business executives. While in Toronto, participants will stay on campus at one of Ryersons residences. At the end of each day, student members of Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE) Ryerson will debrief participants and help them prepare a business or career plan. ACE Ryerson is also managing the $15,000 business plan competition, the culmination of the week-long program.

We welcome all Project Beyshick participants to Toronto for what is sure to be an unforgettable learning experience.

Chair, Toronto Police Services Board

Alok Mukherjee is the first South Asian to be elected as Chair of the Toronto Police Services Board. Dr. Mukherjee teaches courses on Indian and South Asian culture and society at York University, is Managing Associate of an Ottawa-based consulting firm, and has extensive publication and public involvement experiences.

Dr. Mukherjee has many publications in a variety of areas including diversity and inclusivity, employment equity for racially visible and aboriginal people, and anti-racist education.

Alok Mukherjee has held several public appointments including membership on the Toronto District School Board Safe and Compassionate School Taskforce, the Transitional Advisory Group to Toronto Mayor David Miller, the Ontario Civilian Commission on Police Services, and Vice Chair and Acting Chief Commissioner of the Ontario Human Rights Commission.

Dr. Mukherjee plays an active role in the community. His volunteer activities have included Chair of the Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA); a member of the Board of Governors, Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology; President of Indian Immigrant Aid Services; Chair of the Housing Sub-Committee, Social Issues Committee of the Childrens Aid Society of Metro Toronto; Chair of the Sub-Committee on Access to Services, City of Toronto Mayors Committee on Community and Race Relations; and a member of the Multiculturalism Committee, United Way of Greater Toronto.

Dr. Mukherjee has received the Ontario Volunteer Service Award (1996), the Molson New Pioneers Award for Leadership by Skills for Change, Toronto (1996) and Commendation by the Mayor of Toronto (1987). He brings a unique perspective to law enforcement issues from his experiences in a highly multicultural and multiracial environment.

About TPSB: The Toronto Police Services Board is a seven member civilian board that oversees the Toronto Police Service, Canada's largest municipal police service. In Toronto, civilian governance of the police dates back to January 1, 1957, when the police departments from the original thirteen municipalities in the Toronto area were amalgamated to establish the Metropolitan Toronto Police. A civilian oversight body, the Metropolitan Toronto Board of Commissioners of Police, was also created at that time.

Deputy Police Chief, Toronto Police Services

Deputy Chief of Police Keith Forde is in charge of Human Resources and Community Mobilization Command. As head of this unit, he leads the efforts to ensure that the Toronto Police Service is fully and at all levels reflective of the community and engages the community in a meaningful way in developing its programs and services. As part of this responsibility, he is the main architect of a summer Youth in Policing Initiative whereby 100 young people from the various at-risk and marginalized communities of the City are employed by the police service so that they get experience of working in real jobs, develop professional and life skills, get to know the world of policing and, in turn, help our people gain a better understanding of the life and realities of the communities these young people come from. This is the first such program undertaken by a police service and is intended to be ongoing.

About TPS: The Toronto Police Service (TPS), formerly the Metropolitan Toronto Police, is the local police force for the City of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Toronto Police Force, was founded in 1834 when the City of Toronto was first created from the Town of York. The Toronto Police is one of the English-speaking worlds oldest modern municipal police departments.

Chief of Staff, Trillium Health Centre

Dr. Bhatnagar obtained his MD at the University of Western Ontario in 1986. He obtained is M.Ed. from OISE at the University of Toronto in 1999.
Prior to joining Trillium, he was on staff in the division of cardiac surgery at Sunnybrook & Women's Health Sciences Centre, and the University of Toronto.
Dr. Bhatnagar has published numerous articles and has presented extensively. At Trillium Health Centre, he has led the way for Beating Heart Surgery, making Trillium the largest centre in Canada performing this new procedure.

A key player in the Canadian film and television industry, Ms. de Wilde divides her time between corporate directorships, advisory boards and the Board of the Toronto International Film Festival, where she serves as Chair of the Finance Committee. Ms. de Wilde has extensive knowledge of the media and broadcasting. She was most recently President and Chief Executive of Astral Television Networks, where she played an instrumental role in pay and pay-per-view television expansion in Canada and in supporting the Canadian filmmaking community. A graduate of McGill University law school, Ms de Wilde first served with the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), and later joined the Montreal law firm Heenan Blaikie, where she became a partner.
