In Nepal as elsewhere, prosperity and economic development depend on peace, freedom, good governance, political stability and peopleâ??s participation. A well functioning democracy prepares the ground for prosperity by ensuring economic and political freedom. POA Foundation believes that a free, peaceful, and democratic Nepal is in the best interest of all. POA Foundation supports partnership to promote broad-ranging dialogue and discussion among Nepali and non-Nepali scholars and practitioners on issues relating to the transformation of the state, economic and political freedom, politics, economics, and social institutions in Nepal in a way that addresses key long-term issues for the betterment of the people of Nepal.

For example, a workshop on Opportunities and Challenges for Nepali Political Parties was conducted in Washington, D.C by Liberal Democracy Nepal (LDN) and National Democratic Institute, on October 22-23, 2005 in which the representatives of six political parties (Nepali Congress, Communist Party of Nepal UML, Nepali congress â?? Democratic, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Jana Morcha Nepal, Nepal Sadbhavana Party (A)), who were on a visit to USA were invited for a face to face interaction on the present political crisis in Nepal. A prominent Nepali human rights activist Mr. Padma Ratna Tuladhar as well as Kul Gautam and Samuael Tamarat of United Nations were also in attendance. Financial sponsorship was provided by POA Educational Foundation, and Aditya Jha (Chairman, POA Foundation) was one of the speakers at the workshop.

POA Foundation has plans to enhance its collaboration with a research center like the Nepal Study Center of the University of New Mexico and its affiliate Liberal Democracy Nepal (LDN) forum.
